Objective
Following many weeks of investigation works carried out by ADJ Surfacing, it was established that the existing attenuation drainage had collapsed and caused the car park to subside. The water was collecting underneath the surface and washing away the sub-base and in heavy downfall was flooding the car park.
Outcome
Following the design stages, we excavated 16lm x 12lm by 3.2lm deep. This was excavated in steps to ensure safety of our staff at all times. We then recycled all the plastic attenuation units and installed new Polystorm PSM5 attenuation crates. They have a vertical compressive strength of 61tn / m2 and desgn life of 60 years. Once installed, we backfilled in 150mm layers and then installed new asphalt and line markings back to its existing layout prior to works commencing.
